Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Iconic is a paid macOS app made by Ahmet Dedeler. This policy explains what
information Iconic collects, why, and what is done with it. The short version:
Iconic collects the minimum needed to sell you a license, deliver it, and keep
it working on your Macs. Your data is not sold, rented, or used for advertising.
What is collected
- Purchase details. When you buy a license, payment is processed by
Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; Iconic never sees or stores them.
Iconic receives your email address, the amount paid, and a payment reference
so it can issue your license and handle support or refunds.
- License and activation data. To activate the app, Iconic stores your
license key, your email, and for each Mac you activate: a device identifier (a
one-way hash of the Mac's hardware UUID, not the UUID itself), an optional
device name, and activation timestamps. This is used only to deliver your
license and enforce the 2-device limit.
- Catalog and search. Browsing the icon catalog and searching sends
standard web requests. Like any website, the server keeps short-lived logs
(such as IP address and request info) for security and reliability.
How it is used
- To process your purchase and send you your license key.
- To activate Iconic on your Macs and keep your license valid.
- To provide support, issue refunds, and prevent abuse or fraud.
Service providers
- Stripe processes payments. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they
handle payment data.
- Resend delivers your license key email.
- Cloudflare hosts the catalog, licensing, and download services.
What is not done
- Your data is never sold or rented.
- There are no third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
- Iconic does not read, upload, or transmit the contents of your files or
the apps whose icons you change. Icon changes happen locally on your Mac.
Retention
License and activation records are kept for as long as the license exists, so
your purchase keeps working and support remains possible. You can ask to have
your data deleted by emailing the address below, subject to records that must be
kept for tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices
You can request a copy of the data associated with your license, or ask for it
to be deleted, by emailing ahmetdedelerr@gmail.com.
Changes
